If i put a budget for myself of about 100 to 180 U.S. Dollars. (You can ignore the budget if necessary).
BUT.. I just want it for music and pictures, not movies

Nothing ever beats the ipod. The gadget show has tested many of the best mp3 players and ipod allways wins.

Go for the ipod nano as far as price and size or the normal ipod if you need more memory.
